PJ: Adventure Girl

For anyone wondering… we’re still in Carlsbad, tucked inside while we keep an eye on the news of the firestorms. So far so good… my heart goes out to those evacuating. Please stay safe, everyone.
Here is a session I photographed yesterday evening at Cardiff. The air was thick with smoke, but made for some amazing skies. I’m glad that we got this in before things got really crazy.
PJ is truly an Adventure Girl. She kept bolting for the water, and was completely content to run away from mom and dad. I love her spirit of independence! Here she is:
[…] I was so thrilled to hear that PJ, age two, and mom Tracey were back in town for a girls’ vacation after moving from Cardiff-by-the-Sea to the wilds of Indiana last Spring. Their last portraits with me were the evening that the fire storms started last Fall - a very memorable evening! I’m sad that dad Jamie couldn’t make this trip, but here are a few for you all to enjoy. It was wonderful to see you both again, and just delightful to see that our Adventure Girl is just more so. Her dancing, singing, chatting, climbing and pretending made my heart smile. […]
