Garden of Lights

If you haven’t been to Quail Botanical Gardens in Encinitas, CA you should! It is one of our happy places. Andrew is content to explore there for hours. Our favorite part is the bamboo garden. They have a terrific children’s garden with weekly activities, and tons of other places to get away. It’s a peaceful, often overlooked gem in this area. I love shooting here!
Every year we go to Quail for the garden of lights event. There are acitivities for kids, food and drinks, and the entire garden is decorated with a gazillion lights. It’s different every year, and it’s always a treat. Check it out this year, they are still hosting this event from December 26th - 30th. Santa is there, too - Andrew wouldn’t go near him, because “Santa is scary.” He couldn’t explain why, or how he expects to still get presents on Christmas morning, but there you have it.

And of course - no visit would be complete without a visit to the trains in the Children’s Garden.
