The North Fork

My parents indulged me with a little photo shoot in and around Southold, on the North Fork of Long Island. Lots of open land, open sky, open water… it has vineyards, sod farms, and dozens of farmstands doing their last business before closing down for the season.

Any guess what this crop is?
What is this called? A carousel? It’s one of those playground thingies that go around when you push it. I don’t know why, but you almost never see these at playgrounds at home.
